Srinagar: Three militants have been killed in an encounter that broke out in Khulchohar Runipora area of Shangus from South Kashmir, Anantnag district on Monday morning.
An official said that three militants were killed in an exchange of fire in Runipora area on Monday morning.
Earlier an official said that a joint team of Police, Army’s 19 RR and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in that area. He said that as the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot where the militants were hiding and militants fired upon security forces resulting of killing of 3 militants in exchange of fire.
This is 13th encounter in South Kashmir in month of June in which 36 militants have been killed so far.
