PULWAMA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Pulwama, Dr Raghav Langer yesterday visited Sangerwani and took an on spot appraisal of long pending demand of people of Sangerwani and adjacent villages of Pulwama regarding establishing road connectivity between Choutal Sangerwani to Nagbal Yousmarg. He trekked from Choutal to Nagbal by foot to review the alignment of the road project for clearance from the forest department.
The DC directed officers of the R&B Department to prepare a fresh DPR of the project for submission to Govt at an earliest. He also directed forest officials to submit a clearance report as early as possible so that the work on the project can be executed after the proper approval of the DPR.

The locals have hailed the DC for taking on spot assessment of the forest area from where the road passes and thanked him for his personal efforts in executing the long drawn demand. The road will connect scores of lives living in the area particularly the tribal families. It is pertinent to mention here that the DPR of 4.5 km road was submitted in 2016-17 for 9.75 crores for administrative accord, however the project got stuck due to clearance from the forest department. The 4.5 km road will prevent a circuitous journey of almost 25 kms besides providing better & shorter access to Yusmarg from Pulwama side.
Among others, Tehsildar Rajpora, BDO Achagoza, AEE R&B Rajpora, Ranger Forest Range Pulwama Forest div. Shopian accompanied the DC during the visit.
