Jammu & Kashmir, Srinagar, October 20: Two militants were killed in an Overnight encounter in Melhura area of South Kashmir’s Shopian district. Official sources told that second militant has been killed in an Overnight encounter. However the identity of the slain militants is yet to be ascertained.
Pertinently one militant was killed yesterday in initial exchange of firing. The operation was halted due to darkness and resumed this morning with the killing of second militant, they said. Pertinently, 185 militants have been killed so far this year in Valley.

Earlier, Reports said that a joint team of Police and army’s 55RR launched a cordon and search operation in Melhura. As the joint team of forces approached towards the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon the forces, triggering off an gunfight.
