Srinagar: A two day Youth Festival was organised by Chinar Corps of Indian Army to promote talent of the youth of Kashmir at Baramulla in North Kashmir. Aptly titled as ‘Jashn-e-Baramulla’, the Youth Empowerment festival was held at the famous Showkat Ali Stadium in Government Degree College, Baramulla. Based on the theme of Kashmiriyat, the festival also highlighted the rich culture & traditions of the Awam while showcasing the talent and potential of the Kashmiri Youth.
Conducted on a massive scale, Jashn-e-Baramulla emerged as a multi-faceted event. Events included the performances by participants of Kashmir’s Got Talent and various local bands. Other events included a Raffle Draw where ten attractive Lucky draw prizes were won by the locals including a Honda Activa Scooter. Sufi & Cultural Musical performances by renowned Kashmiri artists enthralled the audience during the course of the festival. The Closing Ceremony was attended by Bollywood Actress Ameesha Patel alongwith Maj Gen Virendra Vats, General Officer Commanding Dagger Division and other prominent Army & Civil Administrative officials. Speaking on the occasion, GOC Dagger Division stressed upon the need to engage youth towards maintaining peace in the Valley. He exhorted the youth to acquire good education & skills for a brighter future and assured full help from the Army in fields of education, skill development and sports.
