Srinagar: Ministry of youth affairs and Sports Govt.of India Kiran Rijiju had sanctioned 23 National integration camps across the country for the year 2019 -20 under the theme of Ek bharat Shreshtha Bharat through Nehru Yuva Kendra Saganthan which provides ample opportunities to 575 Rural youth to come together from different Regions, Districts and States /UT to know India and participate in various Youth Development activities, share voice of youth, Culture, Heritage, Traditions language and inculcate the Spirits of unity, Nationalism and brotherhood “feeling proud of Indian citizenship.
On 6th of March 2020 Kiran Rijiju has participated in this interactive session with youth of India in this national integration camp at Ganderbal to motivate and guide the youth for their active participation in promotion of unity communal harmony. Sarmad Hafeez commissioner secretary youth service and sports Govt of J&K, DC Ganderbal Shafaqat Iqbal and other dignitary where also present.
This is the first major sports event to be held in the Valley after the scrapping of Article 370 in August last year. The four-day event, which is held in Gulmarg, a popular skiing destination, has been inaugurated by Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju. Over 800 participants from nearly 40 teams from 20 states are expected to take part in this event. The event will have different games like snow skiing, snowboarding, cross country race, snow show and snow cycling.
Under fit India campaign and promotion of Sports Culture among rural youth Union Minister of Sports has distributed sports material kits to over 250 Youth from Kashmir hailing from different youth clubs / Mahila Mandals.
Kiran Rinjuji in his speech said that it is a great excitement for me to see so many youth gathered here who belong to different parts of country. To understand the diversity and richness in our culture and tradition, National Integration Camp is the best way for it and in this regard Prime Minister has given us specific instructions for organizing such camps, he added. He further added that our government is also working to identify the talent among J&K youth who will be given full facilities including training, lodging and accommodation at National Camp to prepare them for Olympics.
